We need to create real market places for R&D activities outside the university laboratories and research centers for more interaction with the industrial sector. The MIA competition is a first-of-a-kind program on a pan-Arab level that will create such possibilities. Not only will it help university students and researchers to market their findings and develop their entrepreneurial skills, but it will also create awareness of and build trust in the ability of Arab technology experts to answer local technological and development challenges

President, Arab Science & Technology Foundation (ASTF)

Please note that this competition is run in each country that's registered in the program by holding a local finals for the three categories of the competition and winners from each category compete in the MIA finals in November in Egypt 2009

3 - I want to apply but I can't find my country flag?

This is because your country didn't register in the competition through an official local partner that runs the local finals before the MIA finals. Please check: http://www.mia-astf.com/local_partners/index.php
